Matthew E. Poese
Research Associate
The Pennsylvania State University

Matt Poese (pronounced Pay-zee) recently earned a Ph.D. in acoustics at Penn State studying under the direction of Prof. Steven Garrett. The work Poese did as a master's and doctoral student, helped lead the way to the technology that forms the core of Thermoacoustics Corporation. His doctoral dissertation, An Evolution of Compact Thermoacoustic Refrigerator Design, established new concepts and verified new components of the technology with the construction and test of two different prototypes.

Before becoming a Penn State graduate student in 1995, Poese earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He is one of the founders of Thermoacoustics Corporation.
